Even if it were possible, why in the world would you want to? There are much
better, faster, and cheaper backup systems available. I sure wouldn't care
to have my data backed up on relatively fragile MiniDV tapes when I can just
as easily put it on CD, which is cheaper and random access, as opposed to
the sequential tape. It won't be long before DVD-RAM will become more
accessible for this as well.
