Aron (and interested others) Here's what I can remember about setting up VPC/Win2K on my Mac:
I have a TiBook 550, with 256 MB of Ram. I've updated VPC to 5.02 I've updated the VPC extensions for the Win2K install as well. VPC thinks it's a PII MMX. When I installed Win2K, I did a default install - nothing fancy. I haven't even patched it with SP2. I had the default VPC memory allocation of 64Mb, and it seemed just fine to me, but I just upped it to 128 - I haven't used VPC with the new config enough to gauge it's performance. I haven't fully stressed the Win2K install - I have Lemmings for Windows 95 on it, which I run occasionally, and it runs quite well - actually playable, which surprises me. Also, I use (no hissing) FrontPage 2000. It too runs quite well, imo. I also connect to a MS Terminal Services box. I'll be installing .Net studio, and will be using FrontPage XP and Access XP to create Active Server Pages. (No hissing - I live in a WinCentric world.) Any slowdowns will be due to the apps I'm running, not my current install of Win2K. -- John Lyon :: http://jelyon.com Random Abstracts :: JELyon's Rampage Powered by Blogger Pro :: http://pro.blogger.com -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
