I have just replaced my 250mhz WS processor board for the second time, The first time it was covered by Apple. This time (5 months later) the same symptoms...ie the machine went dead..wouldnt boot, screen black, no
chime ,... and no warranty. I took a chance and guessed it was the same problem. I ebay auction and 10 min. later the WS was back on the road with no problems evident. So, are the WS 250s more succeptable to this sort of failure? I read on this list (Kyle?) that the WS was the machine most seen by repair Techs. Is this true? What sort of repairs do they seem to require most? Processors perhaps? Is there any correlation with expanding the ram and processor board failure? What is the adv. operating temp of the processor? Mine is running at 165 degrees after 2 hrs of moderate processor activity. Should I make a point of cooling it with a heat transfer device of some sort? Am I being paranoid? Is my Karma just out of whack? Is it my turn in the Barrel?? Thanks for any insight. Art -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
