> Ah, but why did they go out of business? That's the catch. I don't think they > went out of business because they had an inferior product!
A large percentage of failed business don't fail due to an inferior product, although that can often be a catalyst. :( > I bought numerous > Newertech G3 cards--in fact the only two non-Newer G3 cards I bought were two > close-out MetaBox Joes cards. I have never had one single problem with the > Newer cards---as opposed to some of the other upgrade card makers' > cards--double boot Sonnets, etc. Out of all of those, oddly I had the best luck with the metabox joe cards... I think what shawn was getting at was the fact that while newer often had a good product, their business practices often left a =lot= to be desired, as well their frankness with their customers. I swear to god, 8/10 times newer would use product announcements as market research as to whether or not there was a market for the product. Distributors and resellers all over the place have horror stories about back orders and customer satisfaction problems with them. It is telling that OWC is the "exclusive" reseller partner of their upgrades... You can interpret that as OWC somehow outbid all the other distributors out there for the right, or the fact that OWC is the only one who will deal with them at this point. > I'd be more than thrilled to look at an upgrade for my Pismo from Newer. Dicey... If it actually ships on time, I wish you the best of luck with it... Heh, I hope there are more... The mac processor upgrade market has practically been run into the ground over the last few years. Michael Bryan Bell ------------------ ICQ: 16106263 Yahoo: mhbell1 No Link for you!
