Hello,
I know you're probably asking about a solution in the US, but let me just
relate my experience from two weeks of holidays in Scotland just gone by. On
the first day there I phoned Demon.co.uk and applied for a 30 day trial
internet access for free and they set me up on the phone giving me all the
relevant access data. Minutes later, it worked. Perhaps similar offers are
available from US ISPs.

Definetely not. If you go to the warchalking website, you'll see that ONE
man has signed out his airport network this way. I don't think this will
stick around long enough to be of use, what with the rain and all...

I hate to be the one who brings this news to the tribe, to the magic
Digikingdom, but the simple truth is that the Web, the Internet, does one
thing. It speeds up the retrieval and dissemination of information,
partially eliminating such chores as going outdoors to the mailbox or the
adult bookstore, or having to pick up the phone to get hold of your
stockbroker or some buddies to shoot the breeze with. That one thing the
Internet does, and only that. All the rest is Digibabble.
