Well, I finally shut down my iBook, Dual USB, to clean the keys, trackpad and palmrest. What a weird feeling seeing it completely off...
Anyway, while it was off, the keyboard marks on the screen were painfully obvious. So I tried cleaning the screen again. Still there. So I tried again and again and again. They were diminishing! So I spent another 10 minutes gently cleaning the screen and when it was all said and done, every mark was gone! Yes, I do recall someone hollering (use of exclamation points) that 'it's not scratches but greasy fingerprints causing the marks!' or something to that effect...pat yourself on the back, that's why I kept trying. FYI, I used Kensington Lint-Free Wipes and Kensington Screen Guardian spray to achieve this. I'd spray the cloth, wipe the marks gently yet firmly, dry it with another cloth and repeat. As I said, it took me a good 10-15 minutes to completely remove the marks but they are definitely gone. However...there are still marks on the surrounding frame that will not go away. These are definitely wear marks as the matte finish of the frame has become shiny where the keys and trackpad button have made contact. The dirt cleaned off just fine but the shiny marks are there for good. This tells me I need something larger than just a keyboard overlay since the lower edge of the trackpad button is marking the upper frame of the screen (just below the latch). -Mark -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
