PC66 vs. 100 is only the rating of which the ram will maintain 
stability at. they are completely backwards compatible - you can run 
pc100 in a pc66 bank, it will just run @ 66MHz. now, running PC66 at 
100/133, then yes, that would be a cause for stability concerns, 
because you are running it at a higher clock speed than its rated. the 
ram isnt programmed to run at 66 or 100 mhz, its just runs at what the 
computer tells it to.

that would have nothing to do w/ it detecting only half the ram - that 
would be a ram density issue. whether it takes high density chips or 
not.
