PowerBook G3 Pismo 400
1GB RAM/40GB HD
OS X v10.2/9.2.2

Yesterday my Pismo froze after playing a quicktime video, so I
restarted it. The screen stayed black for several minutes, so I tried
restarting it again, but still nothing. The third time, the screen
flashed white for a split second, then black and nothing for ten
minutes or so. After a few more restarts, it finally started up.
Every time, I waited several minutes to see what would happen. Every
time, the hard drive would spin and the processor would tick, like it
was booting up.

I used it a few times yesterday, putting it to sleep by closing the lid
after each use. This morning, it would wake up, and is exhibiting the
same symptoms as yesterday, spinning hard drive, ticking processor. I
tried resetting the power manager several times, obviously to no avail.

Somehow, though, I got the idea that it was booting up. So, I waited a
few minutes, then typed my login name, hit the tab key, typed my
password and hit enter. Processor started ticking like mad, logging me
in. I hit the volume button on my keyboard several times and it beeped
at different volumes, so I knew the 'book was listening to me.

The it hit me...plug the 'book into an external monitor, since it seems
to be booting, just the screen isn't working. That didn't work on two
different monitors, even restarting the PowerBook after attaching the
monitors.

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

GmG
