You should not. You can give admin rights to any user. BTW, the 'super-user' is usually 'root', but nobody uses this account for any work. In a last resort, you could try to delete the Preferences folder in Library, log out, log back in and see what happens. Like Phillip said in another reply, you will lose your application settings and other stuff like that, but Preferences might contain the offending file, so you might want to try that if you don't really want to switch to a new user.
