A couple things I'd try. Open it up and remove the processor module and ram and reseat them in case they moved a bit. If that doesn't help, try booting from CD and see if it runs OK from the CD. The impact may have damaged he hard drive. If you're having problems reinstalling the OS, that's a likely culprit. If you have an external firewire drive you can boot from, definitely try that as well.
