iBook - go dual USB, any speed or model should be OK for the short term light use you are talking about but its a huge bonus in size, weight, features, and screen quality for travel.
PowerBook - go with a Pismo. G4s are going to be a lot more expensive and Lombards are going to be under featured when compared to an iBook dual USB for the same money. My Pismo travels well, friend has an iBook takes it everywhere [its a 500MHz dual USB], Wallstreets are more solid than Pismos or Lombards but they are heavy as hell.
