I read the original post on this topic and I strongly encourage everyone to send feedback to Apple. Everyone says that Apple has never listened to customers, and that has been a very resistant memory to dislodge, but it has and is changing. Apple now includes "Provide xxxx Feedback" in the Applications Menu of many applications including iTunes, iCal, and others. They have posted Feedback areas on their website and they have posted and emailed requests for users to give feedback based on the purchase of a new Apple product or visiting the Apple Knowledge Base.
In my opinion the Titanium PowerBook G4 is a great looking laptop computer, does it feel as rugged as my Pismo? No. Does my Pismo feel as rugged as a Wallstreet? No. Is an iBook somewhere in between? It seems so. I don't think Apple plans to change the case design anytime soon, but then I could be wrong. I do believe that much like the decision to maintain the existence of the Apple Menu which had been discarded in Mac OS X Public Beta - that massive user feedback does impact their decisions. If we wanted a different PowerBook I believe they would make it. Although never as promptly as we might demand.
