Thanks both of you for posting this - I had ordered a 40GB from Dell [it made me feel dirty] because I got an excellent price on it but it was only 4200rpm so this drive being only $15 more or so ... well, I am returning the 4200rpm drive to Dell [which wouldn't format anyway]. Thanks again as I am better off for it.
