I think what's ironic is that the 75GXP got a lot of publicity prior to 
all the failures because it was the biggest and fastest drive available 
for its time. I heard the reason for the failures is because IBM used 
cheap glass platters (instead of the metal or ceramic or whatever they 
normally use). I suppose that's the price you pay for being the first 
on your block to get something new and exciting.
