I have a Lombard recently upgraded to OS X that the ethernet port stopped working on.
A trip to my Apple authorized repair shop confirmed a bad ethernet port. The
replacement of the motherboard is apparently the only way to repair this problem($570+
for an estimate). All OS 9 and OS X software has been re-installed during the
troubleshooting with no effect. I've tried all the battery pulling and resetting that
seemed to work in a previous posting.

I am curious if a PCMCIA 10/100 card like FriendlyNET will work in OS X on the
Lombard. I see the availability of Beta drivers on the website, but I read a few
digest reports of problems with this setup. Not an elegant solution, but better than
the phone line at 56k.

Thanks for any answers/advice.

Randy
