I just finished doing a format/clean install of OS 9.2.2 on my Wallstreet.
Installed 9.0 from CD then installed updates to 9.2.2.
Now I'm trying to install MS Office 4.2.1b from CD.
Following ms's suggestion I've started with all extensions and control
panels off except for Apples' "cd/dvd driver OS 9.2.1"
I also tried the Apples' "cdrom extension V1.3.8"
When I click on the Microsoft Office Setup icon I get:
"starting ms office 4.2.1b"
followed immediately by:
"microsoft setup was not completed successfully"
But I haven't DONE anything yet!
Opening the setup folder and clicking on "install pack" gives:
"the file being processed ("install pack") does not have the format of a
valid setup script file"
followed by the ever popular:
"microsoft setup was not completed successfully"
Any suggestions?
I have installed Word from this very cd onto this very wallstreet using
the same CD drive back when the wallstreet was running OS 8.6.
Last night I installed Charis Discribe from CD (so I could copy the
desired word data files to CD) so I know the CD drive is working.
Do I need to get a later version of office?
I'm not sure I can handle a new OS and a new program in the same month.
