Yes I did, Mark. And I read those reports, but thanks for the heads- up. It seems like the problems were mainly confined to people trying the hack on non- specified 'Books. I messed up the command- line entries several times before I got it right and it didn't adversely affect my 'Book. I have the latest iBook with the 32MB VRAM card and it works beautifully. The go- ahead that I needed is in the fact that the additional options for "turn off mirroring" and additional options tab suddenly appear after the OF manipulation- the capability is indeed built- in to the drivers for the video card. It seemed that this was less of a risky OF hack and more of a workaround for removing a software- based crippling "hack" applied by Apple. But that's my perspective. However, you can never tell what people really do in the privacy of their own homes to their own machines or otherwise, so I'm sure all the precautions. warnings and disclaimers are warranted. dave -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
