For the average user, not much, granted: GIMP (which can only be compared to Photoshop the way, say a can of Play-DOH in the hands of a three-year-old can be compared to a block of Carrara marble in the hands of a Michaelangelo), Open Office, the aforementioned Gnome apps and such. Frankly, for the majority of X-apps that come with Linux distros, for example, there are better native apps available.
