It depends. If you want the fastest drive available, I'd go with the 
IBM Travelstar 40GNX. It's a 40GB, 5400rpm drive with an 8MB cache. 
Tests on Barefeats.com rated it the fastest drive around. I have one in 
one f my Powerbooks and it's very fast.

I've seen them for around $130. Check googlegear.com, they usually have 
a good price.
