I've had good service and prices from OWC. The 40 GB IBM Travelstar (fluid bearings) gave new life to my Pismo. OWC sends instructions, for a few bucks they include the phillips and torx #8 tools to do the job. I also got a firewire enclosure. I pop'd out the old HD, installed it in the enclosure, installed the new drive, partitioned it for OS 9.2.2 and OS X, installed OS X from the CD, plugged in the FW enclosure and copied all my old files on to the OS 9 partition. Then used Software Update to make sure all system software was up to date on both partitions, updated my drivers, ran Disk Tools, repaired Permissions in OS X, and it's like I have a new computer. Good Luck
