oh, and i forgot to mention in my last post.... Open Firmware has 
nothing to do with New World. Open Firmware appeared somewhere in the 
PCI-based PowerPC lineup. For PowerBooks, 
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=24605> documents that 
the 2400, 3400, and all G3 and G4 based PowerBooks have Open Firmware.
