Hello List!

I'm back up and smiling about it for the most part. I wanted to extend my
gratitude to this generally most civic and helpful list! There were, as I've
often experienced from the sidelines to other's problems, quick and useable
suggestions to combat the ills at hand. In my case, that of a bronze Lombard
crippled by a crashed install, it was the PRAM reset that did the trick.
Thanks, to the individuals with the great experience and will to help and
thanks the list for, ummm, existing in the first place. (Yeah, LEM)!.

Now, if I could only grant my wife, who's Powerbook needs to only host M$
Office and Internet Explorer the stability I was dreaming of when I went
through all the trouble of reinitializing and reinstalling.

So, let me ask this:

Shouldn't our PB 333 (running 9.2.2, native 4.6 GB HD, 320 RAM, Ethernet
SOHO, OCR reader peripheral) actually be rock solid with these basic
components and this configuration??

To my dismay, after cleaning up the crash, zeroing the HD from CD (again),
reinstalling 9.0.4->9.1->9.2.1->9.2.2 (again) I still kept having freezes
and crashes with only:

Office 2001
IE 5.1
Stuffit6.5

and a smidgen of tiny other control strip apps and one addition contextual
menu plug in (Shomi - the best!!)

I also went through all the extension (which I know pretty well, I feel) and
deactivated all the ones I knew I wouldn't need (ie. Multiple Users, Speech,
Color Synch, etc.)

To no avail ----any (more) advice anyone??? Does anyone think I should move
her to Jagwire? ( I could with a firmware update, I think)

Thanks again,

JB
