Yes get a Dazzle from Macmall to convert it to digital and transfer via. FW once on the computer you can edit in iMovie or other video editing software. QT Pro can then allow you to compress it into the desired formats but beware on your machine converting to any high quailty codec will take your computer forever. It took my iMac SE with 1 gig of ram nearly three days to convert two hours of video to crummy VCD codec but I was using the poorly written codec from Toast the $80 CD/DVD Mastering software not pro. video software.
