You can go on xlr8yourmac.com web site to check from other users that did the upgrade. Considering that you already tried what you're planning to do on a much slower Macintosh, I would think that the upgrade would be maybe a bit too risky, after I've read some stories from a few people that had a bad upgrade and the time it took them to get it replaced by PowerLogix.
