It's very hard to respond accurately to this question.

*My* feeling is that I would not pay much extra for a faster drive.
Although by upgrading the drive you could improve platter->RAM transfer
speeds by up to 2x, in practice I think it won't make much difference to
your everyday life unless your everyday life involves, say, DV capture
or something of the kind.

If the price is not drastically higher, then I guess it's worth it.
