I admit that I didn't pay attention to this discussion the last time it came

getting a different Powerbook 12 inch, on with a Superdrive. I want to clone
my current information to the new one. I have Carbon Copy Cloner. Do I just
need to clone my User files? Should I clone the main Library file? There
will be some differences in the files that are included on the new computer
because of the DVD burner so I don't want to overwrite those.

don't bother with Carbon Copy Cloner unless you want to clone the entire drive.

since you don't... i would just put the 12" into Target Disk Mode (boot with the T key down) and hook the two up via FireWire. drag-copy your whole home directory (/Users/meg or whatnot) and whatever Applications you want to transfer. viola... done.
