Orinoco just has the best record of working with Powerbooks. I have a Lucent WaveLAN IEEE but I needed to buy the payware 802.11b driver from IOXperts in order to make it work. http://www.ioxperts.com/ If you are looking for a bargain-basement card you should go to the IOXperts website and check their list of supported cards. Also you should factor in that the driver costs $20. You cannot run the driver for longer than 30 minutes without registering. Some 802.11b cards do have Macintosh drivers. You will just have to consult the manufacturer's site. However, the Orinoco has been known to work with the AirPort drivers that come with MacOS X, so that's another reason to go with that. > 3. Actually you both can probably also use "ad-hoc mode" to set up a connection between the iBook and your Wallstreet with an Orinoco.
