I have not moved or changed anything in the environment. It hasn't done the whistling thing at all today. It has been doing it off and on for a few weeks and is giving me some other trouble. I tried to burn a cd the other night and it showed up on my screen as three different cds. After that when I try to back up, it never finishes the session. I can't tell where it is coming from. SOunds like the back. It is worse at night for some reason. I have an airconditioner running at all times. Computer doesn't seem hotter or anything. If anything, it may be cooler. I, too, was wondering about speaker stuff. I do know I sometimes hear crackling sounds from the computer like speaker static or something. I suppose i should do a reinstall of my system software and also the cd burner software. Disk first aid comes out fine and I believe at last check there was minimal fragmentation. Thanks so much for any advice. Lynn -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
