I thought the hard drive was causing the noise but now know it's the a/c adapter connection. I don't know if this matters, but i am having problems using a cd burner from Que. I was getting erro messages and now it just seems to hang when finishing session. My swappable zip drive works and I was able to backup to that.
Wasn't sure if this info was important or not. I have a firewire Que burner and the connection is in the back so wanted this info known to you. I am noticing that my screen is reloading slowly on the desktop and I can see it happening. I have been running disk first aid daily and las tnight it gave a minor volume error and fixed it. I have about 12 percent fragmentation on the hard drive. Haven't run norton yet. Am wondering if my hard drive is indeed okay. Have no idea about soundboards or anything. Will have to look into it. I got a price quote last week for a hard drive and am also tyring to get in touch with another mac guy in the area. Thanks for your expertise!
