Eric Bigham asked: >is the pram battery rechargeable on theWallstreets? then Kyle Hansen replied: >They are NOT rechargeable. Kyle is doubtless one of the most knowledgable PB and Mac techs with whom I've had the good fortune to be acquainted, however I question his reply.
Wallstreet PRAM batteries consist of a package of 6 VL2330 rechargable lithium cells identical to those used (in pairs) in such previous 'Books as Duo, 500, 190/5300 and 1400, and the same cells (quantity 4) are used in Lombard and Pismo PRAM batteries. In all those PBs the cells must and _DO_ recharge. Here's a relevant troubleshooting pointer from page 63 of the Wallstreet's survus man-yoo-all: "Symptom: After you remove battery, some Control Panel settings are different Solutions: 1) Connect power adapter to unit for 24 hours to see if backup battery is just depleted. (It takes approximately 48 hours to fully charge the backup battery.) 2) etc." BTW tabbed VL-type cells are available from such suppliers as digikey, though they ain't cheap at ~USD$4-$6 each.
