Drew. I got the machine running again. The case was that I thougt that the arrow up key was the option key. After being puzzled for a long time the switch went on. That made a big difference. And the sound didn't sound because the soundlevel was at 0.
Thank you so much. You are my hero! What a knowledge. Now i have to find out how to show my old firewire HD on the desktop.
