I don't know the answer to that question, but I just recently went from a
400MHz processor to a 500MHz processor in my Pismo (yes, the poor upgrade
path ;-)

I did run Xbench on my Pismo before and after the upgrade. Here are some
results:

Quartz Graphic Tests:
400MHz: 48.40
500MHz: 60.47

OpenGL Graphic Tests:
400MHz: 49.42
500MHz: 60.93

User Interface Tests (which consist in animating a bunch of controls and
measure the refresh rate):
400MHz: 61.25
500MHz: 73.76

and finally, CPU tests:
400MHz: 26.36
500MHz: 33.45

So, as you can see, going from 400 to 500MHz shows improved performance in
the graphic area. Now, I don't know if a G4 500MHz would do a lot better,
probably, but maybe not, since a lot of those graphic tests use the video
card which is always the same...
