I replaced the stock 10GB drive in my Pismo/400 with a Travelstar 40GNX 
40GB, 5400 RPM model a couple months ago and have had no trouble with 
it at all. The Pismo seems a bit peppier with the new drive and it is 
definitely quieter. I would definitely recommend the upgrade (but I 
would go as large as your wallet will allow.)

Mine was purchased from Googlegear (now ZipZoomFly) a while ago at 
$126, though I don't see that model in their listing now. (Check one of 
the price finder sites for best deals.)

As for installation, it was really quite easy. However, care must be 
taken to seat all connections (particularly the processor module) 
securely. My instructions came from the PowerBook "manual" originally 
shipped with the computer.
