It's the wrong type RAM. The Lombard requires PC66, although SOME lucky
bastards find that their machines do accept PC100.. It's the luck of the draw I
guess--mine won't take PC100, even though an old Wallstreet I had (which
supposedly required PC66) was as happy as a clam with PC100!!!
Anyway, the technical side of it is that the PC100 is "stacked" ram, and the PC66-version laptops (Lombard & Wallstreet) shouldn't bee able to see more than half of any 'stacked" configuration..
That's not correct. PC100 and so-called "stacked" RAM are not necessarily linked. The problem is that the RAM is high-density and the memory controller can't see half the bits.
FWIW, PC100 and PC133 are speed ratings. PC133 is compatible with PC66, so long as it has the same "density" as the controller expects.
