As the 400 Mhz iMac is too slow for iSight I decided to give my Flatpanel iMac to my wife and get a 17" Powerbook for myself. To make the powerbook free from cables I intend to install an Airport base station without modem connected to one free portal of my router. The laptop can than be moved around in the house and in the garden aswell, weather permitting.
Would this setup have your approval or have I forgotten some or more things?
You could probably save some money. I have a fairly wireless household (Powerbook 800, Airport card in a G4 PPC and a Windows box). I use a Buffalo Airstation wireless router (has 4 ethernet connections as well as the wireless). Less than half the cost of the Apple base station and works perfectly with the Macs.
