I'm in the market to buy a firewire enclosure. I plan to install a
3.5" 200GB hard drive in it. It's mainly for backups, store music, and
documents. I'll probably use it maybe once a day for an hour or so.
I'm looking for a high quality low cost enclosure. In about six
months, I'll be buying a second hard drive and enclosure to mirror the
first firewire drive as insurance.
I bought an enclosure for $55 shipped from newegg.com. When you purchase enclosures, make sure that they support drives over 128GB. Just because they have the Oxford 911 chipset does not mean that they will support the newer, large ATA-6 drives.
