and my other question is... my battery seems to only last about 2 hours. is it because i am running at full speed? or is my li-ion battery just getting old? oh, this is a 14 inch dual usb ibook.
That really depends. It could be either; a 14" system is going to get less time on it than a 12" one, but most of the variance is with what you're doing with it.
Lots of disk access, both HDD and optical will really lower the battery time. If you're running at a low amount of RAM, you're hitting the disk a lot for virtual memory, which will kill battery time.
Airport cards kill battery time,too, turn it off when you're not using it.
Plus it could be an old tired battery.
