Hi, I just added RAM to bring my Pismo up 640MB of RAM, 1 GIG is better. I also bought a Hitachi/IBM, 5400 RPM, 40 GIG drive. My Pismo is a 400 speed system. I installed Panther and am very happy with the Pismo. The RAM, hard drive, and my copy of Panther were bought from ebay. If you really like your Pismo, the hardware and software upgrades are very worth the cost. Also, you can do all the mods and installs yourself.....it was fun. Do it!!! Good luck, Jim.

I have a G3/500 w/ 12 GB hard drive and 256 MB of RAM running 9.2.2. I
have
a new Lacie 160 GB Firewire hard drive for backups and digital files. What
should I buy to accomplish a satisfactory upgrade to OS 10.3?

And how much should I budget for RAM, new hard drive and program?

512mb feels quite sleek on my G3/400 pismo.
