As many have already noted, LaunchBar. Awesome and the newest version has
pumped it up to another level.

DragThing hasn't been mentioned yet. I love the idea of a dock - and I hate
Apple's dock. Not only does DragThing have tabbed docks, which I think is
great, but as of version 5 the docks can be hidden on the edge and pop out
as the cursor moves over them. LaunchBar and DragThing are an awesome team.

For news readers either MacSoup or Unison. I like the way MacSoup provides a
graphical view of the threads - It makes it easier to follow a large topic.
Unison is also quite good but obviously Panic geared it especially toward
file downloads.

For reading RSS feeds NetNewsWire which comes in a regular and lite version.
Lite is free and is so feature rich I see no compelling reason (other than
ethics) to pay for it.

If you'll be traveling between different locations you might find Location X
very valuable. Apple has built in location changing to quickly switch
network settings as you move from one location to another. Nice, but
Location X returns functionality we OS 9 users had for years. You can create
location sets that include default printer, network settings, default email
address, sound settings, and more. Since I work in two different offices,
the local Apple store, and at home, I find this invaluable.
