Speaking of Graphic apps, my buddy has lots of problems using Photoshop 7 with Classic-era fonts. Is there a work-around for this?
Make sure there aren't any problems with those Classic fonts. Scan them with FontDoctor, delete the corrupt font files and use a known-good version instead.
We run a font server (FontReserve) but you can achieve a stable font library by compiling your fonts, scanning them for problems and then burn the good fonts to a CD. You will then be able to easily replace corrupted fonts with known-good ones rather easily. Maintaining a problem-free font library will increase the stability of your computer dramatically. I'm not ashamed to say that font management is a major chunk of my business.
