How do you know the screen flickers if you close the lid? Since the PowerBook goes to sleep when you close the lid, I would assume it's normal for the screen to go dark, unless I'm missing something...
Maybe he is doing what I'm doing - running with the lid shut with a big LCD monitor hooked up.
