I just purchased a 500mhz G3 iBook from the Swap list and it looks like the machine has some issues. The internal CD does not work so I tired upgrading to Panther by putting the CD in another Mac and having the ibook in Firewire Target disk mode. The install completed but the machine won't boot, just sticks at a full blue screen.

So, now I put OS 9.2 back on the machine and it gets stuck on the 3rd extension, which is Apple audio or something. I don't know OS 9.x at all. I have rebooted with the SHIFT key and the machine will boot to the desktop. I ran disk first aid and it said all was OK.

How can I fix this? How can I identify which extension is causing the problem? How can I "unload" or remove extensions?

Again, I'm new to OS 9 so any detailed help would be appreciated.
