Interesting dilemma:

Graphite iBook 466mhz Clamshell, tons of ram, 10 gig drive, successfully
installed and ran Panther, but iMovie refused to load and then 9.1 off a
Universal Installer would not load. Wiped, installed 9.2.1 then upgraded to
9.2.2. Figured Panther v. of iMovie is too sophisticated for this iBook, so
installed Jaguar first, which loaded and ran just fine, with iMovie also
loaded and fine. Then installed Panther upgrade. Repaired permissions.
But no go. The unit will boot into 9 but when attempting to boot into X, it
cycles just at the point when the finder bar first appears at the top of the
screen and goes no further.

Any ideas?

Similarly, Panther just up and quite, will not boot in an iMac Indigo,
though 9 boots just fine...any further ideas?

Yours, with advanced gratitude,

Run
