I watched the recording of Jobs in San Francisco. As far as I'm concerned, Tiger wasn't originally planned to even be mentioned until late next year. What was most likely planned was for Steve to introduce the new iMac G5 line. . which everyone knows Apple dropped the ball on.
The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. So far Tiger does not look that exciting (YMMV), and that might be understandable if they had to rush it out of the door.
