Jim -- a few thoughts:
Make sure toast is set to burn at "Best" speed.
Have you tried updating Toast? I think it goes all the way up to 5.2.1 or so.
Have you tried using the burning features built into the OS to compare?
have you updated the Lacie drivers?
Have you updated to OS 9.2.2?
