Hi,

I'm thinking of going (partially) the wireless way, but I'm a bit confused.

Here's the setup :
Cable modem, going to an Asante 4port firewall/router/switch, from there
a wire goes to the main MDD G4DP, another goes to the LW12/640
laserprinter, and on one of the remaining ports I plug my iBook G4 with a
25 meter cable. This works without problems, but not very handy when you
have two kids running around and tripping over the long wire...
Going wireless means adding an Airport extrem card to the iBook (no
problem here) and getting some kind of wireless accespoint to the network.

The question is, where should I put the acces point (Airport express of
extreme base station) in my setup ?? Before the Asante router, or behind
it (AKA putting the long wire into the base station) ???
Which setup will work, which will not ??? Or will both work ?? And which
is the easiest to setup ....
And what about the Airport extreme base station vs the Airport express
base station ?? Any preferences here ??

At this moment I'm inclined for an Airport express base station, situated
behind the Asante router.
(so : Internet > cable modem > Asante > Airport expres iBook)

Anyway, I want to keep the setup as simple as possible, and want to have
everything working as transparent as it is right now.

Any help ???

TIA, Bramke
