Any router will work. The ones sold by PC networking companies are usually configured through a web browser as opposed to Apple's AirPort utility, but once set up, 802.1 is 802.1, though of course speed varies by which protocol you use.
How fast is wireless compared to 10 or 100BT these days? When I looked into it years ago it was pretty slow.
