I don't know what you'll pay for this machine, but I'd be wary of iBooks from this era and onwards, that are sold without Applecare left, unless you like tinkering with the hardware, looking for second hand spare parts or am prepared to pay a premium for later repairs and replacements. If the price is low enough, this may not matter of course. I think the 1Ghz iBooks are quite nice machines otherwise and they probably fit your usage profile if you can live with the smallish screen.
