He was thinking of painting the dented/scratched Titanium Power Book, right (called it Al(uminum)Book)? The iBook was perfect while the PB wasn't?

One consideration, AFAIK the current iBook is a clear plastic case with white paint on the inside. If you disassembled the case and stripped the paint you could then paint it on the inside as you please and the paint would be thoroughly protected. Mind you this would void your warranty.
