Laurent, Do you think, a faulty memory can only cause problems with Expos or will this just be the beginning of the end? ;-) well, I thought more of the VR or so? Yeah, I think I have to reinstall the OS as the first step to a better and happy future with the pismo, panther and me *g* Greetings thomas
Since Expose is part of the operating system and everything up to it loads in a particular order it is quite possible that it is always loading at a bad spot in memory, assuming there is a problem with the memory. So it is likely that it would consistently cause a problem.
In OS 9 you could change the disk cache size to shift where things loaded and see if the problem changed. But I don't know off hand how to do the same sort of thing in OS X.
The simplest test is to swap the memory SODIMMs to see if the problem moves elsewhere. That is if you can, ie you have two SODIMMs (it sounds like you do) and both are low profile (to fit in the upper slot).
